What is counselling?
Counselling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. it involves helping people make needed changes in ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving, and is a goal-based collaborative process, involving a non-judgmental, supportive counsellor who works with a client in telling his or her story, setting viable goals, and developing strategies and plans necessary to accomplish these goals.
It is a way of addressing issues you may be experiencing or have encountered in the past by talking to someone who can be compassionate but who is not personally involved in the case. Talking to a counsellor will help if you feel sad, frustrated, anxious, depressed, confused, or are overwhelmed by any feelings that affect your emotions. Sometimes, you may not even know exactly why you don’t feel okay.

Counselling offers an opportunity for you in a supportive environment where you are listened to and encouraged to explore your thoughts and feelings. To help you understand and handle your mental health more effectively and in a way that works best for you, a counsellor will work with you. They’re not going to make any assumptions about you or what you’re saying and they’re not going to give you advice or tell you what to do.
When certain people start therapy, they feel better because they are being listened to for the first time or because they have been struggling for a while. But some might feel more nervous or upset because they speak about uncomfortable feelings that they will rather ignore. They will feel worse in this scenario before they begin to feel better. It is important that you feel comfortable to participate in the therapy process and it is always best to discuss any questions you have about how you respond to the counselling with your counsellor.

There are many studies that confirm the effectiveness of the online medium for making life changes. How do messaging work?
Once you are booked, you can use your email or you will download one of the most secured messaging apps of your choice ( WhatsApp, Signal or Telegram). You will be sent an acknowledgement mail after subscription via your mail address. After which, you will write about yourself, the things going on in your life, ask questions and discuss the issues that trouble you. I will then read your messages, and respond with questions, feedback, insights, and guidance.
You can exchange messages at any time, from anywhere, using any Internet-connected device. since messaging is not in real-time it doesn’t require scheduling. Instead, you can choose whenever you want to write or respond. You will get a notification when you have a message. The response is usually 1-2 times daily.
How do live chat session work?
You will sometimes want to have a text conversation in real-time. This way you can still enjoy the convenience and privacy of messaging but also enjoy a “live” interaction that allows instant response and feedback from me.
To have a live chat session, you will simply go to your app and start at the scheduled time.
How do phone sessions work?
Phone sessions are a great way to conveniently speak with me by simply using your landline, cell phone, or via our messaging app, however you wish and no matter where you are.

We can also have a video session where we see each other and talk with each other in a virtual face-to-face setting using Google meet or Skype.

When will I start to feel better/For How Long do I need Counselling?
This depends on your needs, Some people feel better shortly after starting with me while Others find it takes time to feel the benefits. some may not even realize there has been any benefits until they stop counselling and compare how they were before the counselling started. So basically, this is completely up to you.
How is my privacy protected?
One of the top rules in counselling is privacy and I am totally obsessed with securing your privacy and confidentiality. The modes of communications are well secured by modern state-of-the-art technology with the sole aim of just protecting your privacy and safeguarding the information you provide. All of this is for you to feel safe and comfortable.
- You also don’t need to identify yourself.
- You can always click the “Shred” button next to each message that you’ve sent so it will no longer show in your account.
- All the messages exchanged are secured and encrypted.
- You can set an app lock on your phone or set time for message to self destroy for extra security.
What happens in a typical counselling session?
At your appointment, you’ll be encouraged to talk about your feelings and emotions. The counsellor/therapist will listen and support you without judging or criticizing. The therapist can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought process, and find your own solutions to challenges, but they won’t usually advice or tell you what to do
Do you offer offline counselling.?

How many hours is the face to face counselling/therapy session?
Each session last about 45minutes to 50 minutes.

For couples therapy, do we have to attend all sessions together?
Ideally, you will attend all sessions together as a couple but when this is not possible then the available partner can attend or the session be rescheduled until when both can attend.
My partner is not interested ,can I enroll alone?

How do I pay for therapy?
Payment can be made here or by bank transfer. However, payment validates the appointment.
You can make payment for the face to face session at the venue.
Can I pay after the session?
No, but you can pay for face to face session in Abuja at the venue before the commencement of session online and concierge sessions will not be provided without payment. Send a message if you’ll like to book a physical session.
